Why?

Why can't this family take a nice picture???

Last 2011 Cottage Visit

On a developmental note, Chippy's speech is getting really good! He can repeat back most words and can understand and follow direction on most everyday activities. He has started to put 2 words together in a row. He has also started to assert his independence more = lots of meltdowns!!

The Eating Wars are Ov-ah!

Chippy has turned over a new leaf. He will try SOME new foods, eat SOME veggies, and will eat his whole meal if we're 'discovering' the picture on the plate under the food!

Note the following:

Accident report no. 1 - goose-egg on forehead
Accident report no. 2 - finger caught in door (index finger in corn pic)
Accident report no. 3 - kid clawed at his face today (corn pic)

Hikin' with the Fam

Me, himself and the mums went for a hike over the weekend. I picked up some rocks, challenged himself to a foot race, and then drove home. What a day!

Feel Better Toys

As recompense for a tough week Daddy suggested, and Mommy concurred, that Chippy might feel better with a new toy! Up to the toy store we went tonight and Chippy picked out a new garbage truck! We should have realized, but half the fun was in the box, not the toy!

The Eating Wars ... con't

So, the Globe and Mail promised to put all our eating problems behind us. Their solution? Pinwheel sandwiches! According to the paper, it is all the rage with toddlers who are picky eaters. Here's how we did:
12:00
12:05
12:07 (by now everything has been on the floor at least once)
12:10 Dinner didn't go much better. We managed a few nibbles of turkey something or other and a small handful of blueberries. In his defense, I think his tummy may have been upset today. :(

Salsa Time!

This weekend is move in time for the kidlets around town ... but it's also Salsa making time in Chippy's house. Uncle Peppers (Peppy) came down for this annual event. Here's Chippy with the almost final product. Chippy and mommy still aren't sure what two guys are going to do with 70 jars of salsa!!??

And for his trick of the day, Chippy will tell you what's cooking on the stove!
