Bubba/Gampy Weekend Away!

Mummy and Daddy dropped me for the weekend at Bubba and Gampy's house.  They thought that I would miss them, but boy, were they wrong!  Hardly even noticed when mummy came to pick me up!  Besides Gampy's Truck, the best part of the trip was meeting the boy next door.  He let me play with all his toys!!  Each morning Gampy and I had breakfast together and Bubba fed me ice creams in the afternoon! :)

Cottage Time!

Chippy had his first cottage time of the season this past weekend.  He had a lot of firsts!  First fishing ... first fish caught!  First time sleeping in a big bed (with dad)!  Mummy (who he is now calling mama??) and Daddy went street toy shopping and ended up with two free trucks that Gampy fixed up!  Chippy had a really good time!

New Song

Out of nowhere Chippy burst into song after lunch today.  Must be a song they sing at daycare!

Mother's Day

Chippy helped Mummy to have a great Mothers Day!  He gave me a lovely flower and card; he made yummy liverwurst sandwiches; and he helped with the gardening!!

Building with Dad

We thought it would be nice if Chippy had a climber in the back yard to get out some of his pent up energy!  Chippy and Daddy worked hard putting it together -  it hasn't fallen down yet!

Oh What a Day

It was such a nice day here today that we did lots of fun things outside - but not too much walking because Chippy has hurt his foot!  :(  First thing this morning we hopped in our buggy and set off uptown for 'Copper Sunday'.  We grabbed some buns at the bun house and went to the park by City Hall to watch the cadets march in from RMC.  After a short nap we piled into the car and found a park to have a picnic lunch.  Then it was off for a car ride to Gananoque for the ice cream house!  Then it was trains for the rest of the day! :-)

When going to bed, Chippy bonked heads with Daddy and said 'two ouchies!'  He also likes to say how 'cited' he is when he's excited.  Mostly when it's pee bag time or when Daddy's coming home from the Queen's house!

A Week with Chippy

Chippy had a pretty good week this week.  His speech is getting really good - he's stringing a lot more words together when he speaks and he can understand a lot of what is said.  He still gets frustrated a lot and throws himself on the ground in disgust at the smallest of things ... sometimes at nothing at all ... but we're all learning to cope!  We keep reminding him to 'use his words' which he is getting better at doing.

Chippy and daddy have a good bedtime routine where he has his bath, they read some books, then Daddy tells Chippy stories in the dark.  Chippy likes to contribute to the stories, frequently asking for stories about airplanes, 10 pigs (because 3 pigs just won't do), motorcycles, Daddy story and a Chippy story.  He has been pretty hyper the past few nights when going to sleep but he eventually settles down after banging his feet on his bed and jibber jabbering to himself for a while.  The hyperness may be a result of the baking Chippy and Mommy did on Monday and Tuesday afternoons.  Chippy likes to start by sticking his finger in the batter of whatever we're making and then sticks his whole fist in when I'm not looking!  Tonight we celebrated the nice weather by going for ice cream!

The past few weekends Daddy and Chippy have had some man to man time at the Bun House.  They share a bun and sit outside watching people go by.

Chippy has been really gentle with Mayonnaise recently (and really has always been).  He recognizes when she's upset and will hug and kiss her.  He finds her binky and will pop it back in for her, rocks her car seat when she starts to cry, and loves to climb up into the crib to help change her.  He loves to ask for 'couch' time where he will hold onto her.

He's still eating really well. It's hard to keep him at the table as he keeps running back into the living room to play, but generally by the end of the meal he's eaten most of his food. Tomatos are about the only thing that he consistently says 'no like it'. Breakfast remains his favourite meal.
