Chippy went for his first sled ride. He was so bundled up that he kept tipping over; however, a good time was had by all! :)

Christmas #3

Christmas #3 was at Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Fred's house. All the Aunties were generous with gifts, and Tracey gave my dad a nice picture of me and my family; however, it was Aunt Ruthie who stole the show with a leather 'Cars' jacket!!!

Christmas #2

Christmas #2 was at Grammy & Grampa's house. I ate my first cardamom wreath and tried lots of different cheeses. My favourite gifts were a 'street cred' shirt from Uncle Pete, colourful blocks from Grammy & Grandpa, books from Aunt Elaine & Uncle Dave, and an old coin from Great Grandpa.

Christmas #1

Christmas #1 was at Aunt Lorri & Uncle Marc's house. The WHOLE house was Christmas, complete with dancing snowmen and overstuffed stockings!! My favourite gifts included a whisk (purchased only after I absconded with Lorri's), a train set from Lorri & Marc, PJ's from Great Nana, and Dr. Zeuss books from Bubba & Gampy. Mom and Dad gave me slippers!?

My First Car

Bean gave Chippy this car for Christmas and he love, love, LOVES it!! It was late when we got home, but we chased Dunning around the house with it and he giggled like I'd never heard him before. Too funny!!!

Chippers & Beans

Chippy & Bean met for the first time tonight. Bean is pretending to be asleep in Grammy's arms while Chippy is being restrained by Mommy. I think everyone was excited to meet!

The Game

Here's my dad and I watching the best football team ever last Sunday. Even though we really, really sucked for the first three quarters of the game ... I knew we'd win!

Snow Day

We don't have much snow compared to other parts of the Province, but we went outside this morning to enjoy what we did have. Dunning, mommy and Isaac spent about a half hour playing in the snow. It's our first time walking around in the back yard.

(Yesterday) Daddy thought there was a bit of a resemblance when Chippy was done his supper tonight!

It's All Fun And Games...

(Friday post) Chippy was amusing himself today with one of his other favourite things. Mommy was occupying herself with cleaning diapers in the sink when the little guy managed to drench himself with the bidet. He has figured out the handles and this has started to happen on a more frequent basis while his bath is being readied.

Baby Better?

(Thursday post) So, just when we thought Chippy was feeling better, he goes and gets a rash all over his body and starts to get a bit fussy. He had his 1 year dr. appointment this morning so we asked them about it. They're concerned that he may have a penicillin allergy, so he's off those meds and onto some new ones. He was in better spirits tonight (after having slept 6 hours today!!).

So, our stats for the day are:

Head: 50 cm
Weight: 9.85kg
Height: 78 cm (?? - will double check in Jan)

Lucky boy didn't have to get any of his shots today since he isn't feeling good so we'll be back in the middle of January!

Bubba & Gampy

(Wednesday's Post) Looks like Bubba and Gampy were having a good time with Chippy while mommy was at work. Their initial job was to take him to daycare this week, but that was changed to full time babysitters after the little guy got sick! Daddy will be home tomorrow so Bubba and Gampy will be going home.

Baby Better!

Chippy is getting back to his normal self. Still sticking close to people, but is playing again! Having fun being babysat by Bubba and Gampy. Listening to gregorian chants and Jacques Loussier!

My Poor Baby

Poor baby wasn't feeling well at all today. He has been sick for a few weeks now, but he slept for most of the past 24 hours and by this afternoon he had no energy and his fever was 40.3. So, off to Hotel Dieu we went. They took him right in and kept him for a few hours monitoring his fever and giving him a chest x-ray. (Side note - never get a chest x-ray for a baby if you can help it! They put him in a horrible contraption with his hands stuck up in the air. He hated it!) We now have some antibiotics and are back to sleep feeling a bit better. Something about December 12th. 2 for 2 we've been in the hospital!! Hopefully this doesn't become a habit.

Quilt

Here I am playing with my new Anjie quilt! It is soft soft soft on the inside and lots of neat pictures on the outside! Thanks Anjie!

Daycare Party!

Daycare had their party on Saturday. Chippy showed us around his daytime home ... lots of toys and space to play! He mostly played with his favourite toy - a 'lawnmower' with alligator heads that chomp up and down. We gave Tuile a scary monster puppet and Chippy got a drum toy (that the other kids promptly took to play with!).

My Birthday Party

Happy Birthday To ME (Friday)!!! We had decorations, gifts, toys, and a whole cake for me! The cake was 'healthy' and the icing was 'unhealthy' ... so I dumped the cake over and just ate the cake. Mommy and daddy gave me a fuzzy puppet and a wiggly worm. Bubba and Gampy gave me books!

Since it was my birthday, I thought I wiould start clapping!!!!!!

Last Day of Zero

Today is my last day of being zero. Nothing much changed ... ate a lot ... still enjoying my bath ... two poos!

Not Getting Up

This morning the boy was not getting up! I turned the light on, talked to him, got his clothes out and he still kept snoring. Not a happy camper when I finally woke him up.

(Wednesday Post) Today I put up the Christmas tree. Well, I directed it coming into the house, and then I went to sleep. But it sure looked great when I got up this morning! :)

The Little Elf

(Friday post) We had a visit from the little elf today! The little elf always visits good little girls and boys for advent! Once we got Dunning away from the parcel, Chippy opened up his present and found Christmas books and clothes!!! Yeah for for the little elf!

Babble babble...

(Thursday post) I came home from work on Thursday to a babbling baby! We have graduated from the bababa's to including da's, ga's, and ya's! I'll tell you about a recent conversation I had with my now babbling baby:

Babysitting

(Monday's Post) I babysat my Uncle Peppers today. Even though it rained, I was still able to get him out for a walk and to the coffee shop. And boy, he sure likes to play! He loves lego, cameras (see picture) and reading books. We got along great as these are some of my favourite things, too! :)

Burgers & Fries

Uncle Peppers is down for the weekend, so we took him out for dinner to Five Guys Burgers & Fries. I was really good all through the big people dinner. I had my own dinner and bath prior to going out, waited until I got my taste of burger & fries, then went to sleep in my buggy. If anyone asks how I like my burger & fries, tell them I like it with 1,400 mg of salt and 85 grams of fat!

Flu Shot

Tonight we all went up to the doctor's office and got our flu shots! The boy didn't cry at all! When he got the shot he looked up in a, 'why the heck did you just do that?' sort of look. A quick play time together, then off to sleep.

Mommy and boy are doing well. Daddy is enjoying his boy time!

The Background Picture

So, as of tomorrow morning I need a Chippy picture for my background at work. Chippy and I waited at home until the sun was just setting and then we headed off to the park to take some pictures in the leaves. We were about 15 pictures in when a girl came over with her dog to see Dunning. Unfortunately, buy the time she finally left - the sun had set!! So, we have a hundred or so mediocre pictures, but nothing great. It didn't help that Chippy only wanted to watch the cars go by and wouldn't look at me!

This is it for the daily pictures; however, I'll continue to post whenever anything good comes up - or just because. :)

Storytime with Grammy

Grammy and Grampa came to visit me today. After taking me out for dinner they bathed me and read me lots of stories. I was soooo tired after my day that I went to sleep without so much as a peep!

A Good Night Sleep

Mommy accidentally put the baby monitor on the wrong frequency last night, so to us it appeared that Isaac slept through the night until 6am! Anyway, it worked because he was really happy today. At daycare he ate his snack AND his lunch. When I went in to get him he was playing with a box of railway tracks and hardly noticed that I came in. This afternoon he was walking everywhere in the house and starting up his babbling again.

Running Man

Our boy has taken to kicking in the bath. It used to be bouncing, but now he likes to have a good kick at the water before and after his bath.

Today we started on our walking again. He was playing by himself in the living room and he started walking between his toys. Very happy boy today! :)

What Did Mommy Do?

Mommy went to the store to get a replacement for Spot#2 which goes to daycare with Chippy. We figure the likelihood of him losing it at some point is fairly high. Well, mommy found a replacement, it just wasn't in the size she wanted... Pictured are Chippy, Spot #1 and what is now Spot #3. :)

Bright and Early!

Since Chippy doesn't yet understand the concept of 'time change', we're still running an hour ahead of the actual time... which means we're up bright and early in the morning! The good news is that Chippy and mommy can have a nap by 8:30!! :) Poor daddy who forgot to reset his alarm clock and was up at 5:40!

A Visiting We Go...

When Chippy heard that Uncle Tino was in town, we had to go visit! :) The Chipster opened his first birthday present, got bounces from Aunt Cindy (see photo), and caused surprisingly little damage at Nona and Nonu's (sp?) house! What a good little munchkin!

We also went to the Early Years Centre in the morning and had a walk uptown in the rain in the afternoon.

Dinner

Another day of not eating at daycare ... So, we experimented at dinner tonight:

1 - Zucchini bread - Check!
2 - Nutrio's - Somewhat ...
3 - Milk - Check!
4 - Steamed carrots ... No way
5 - Soy Sauce Tofu - Check!
6 - Wooster Sauce Tofu ... No way
7 - Chick Peas ... No way
8 - Coconut milk - Check! He loved it and even fed himself from a glass!
9 - Curried Chick Pea soup ... No way
10 - Ketchup - Check!
11 - Nacho chip - Check! (at least the salt was licked off)
12 - Pear - Check!
13 - Banana - Check!

At the end, he did okay. However, anything of substance that we prepared for him that wasn't fruit he didn't really want. The ketchup and flavoured tofu was really more of a joke, but we did learn that he likes flavour! Total time for dinner - 90 minutes!

Lucienne

Today Chippy welcomed the arrival of his cousin Lucy! If Chippy and Lucy are anything like their 'Bowers' parents, I'm sure they will get into mischief when they're together! Welcome Lucy!

GOAL!

By request, we are demonstrating our ability to react to 'goals' being scored either in soccer or football! Upon being told that a 'Gooooaaaalllll' has been made, Chippy will raise his hands in the air!

Daycare went okay today. They confirmed him as a picky eater. They said that they actually put food aside from previous days that they think he might like, just so they can find something he'll eat! :)

Understanding My Toys

(Friday's Post) Today the boy was figuring out his toys! When I handed him his car, he would put it on top of the race track and push it to the bottom. He would also take a ball from me and put it in the proper slots of another toy. Smart boy!
