Swim Pictures

Today Bubba and Gampy came to watch me swim, so I got my picture taken. Someone didn't put me down for my afternoon nap, so I didn't like the water as much as I did the first time. Today they put me in a life preserver and we sang the grand old duke of york. I pursed my lips and looked bored most of the time.

Who Says It's Bedtime?

As I sit here listening to Chippy scream, I'm not sure if I'm fond of his latest accomplishment. He now stands up in his crib. This is great during the day because he amuses himself by standing up - sitting down - standing up - sitting down. However, now that it's bedtime, Spot just doesn't measure up anymore. Now he throws Spot aside and lifts himself up on the side of the crib. He stands there screaming, not falling asleep. We've just called in reinforcements - Sprout is singing him to sleep ... fingers crossed ...

My Head Is So Big...

... I can wear Gampy's hat! We had a great time at the cottage this weekend. It was pretty cool in the mornings so I had to wear a hat ... good thing Gampy's got a big head too!

Musical Table

Chippy is becoming quite proficient with his new musical table! We broke our own rules and bought this electronic toy. Chippy pulls himself up on the table and will stand at it for a long time playing the piano, harp, xylophone, shakers,and 'turning pages' on the music book! It's nice for him to have something he can stand at and hit/play with that isn't the dog on the couch or my stuff on the coffee table!

Swimming

Today we had our first swimming lesson! We kicked and splashed and swallowed lots of pool water! And mommy gets a non-refundable tax credit for taking him! :) Mommy also forgot the camera.

Toot, Toot!

Is there a problem with this picture? Is it unusual that the boy wants to play in Dunners' bed and Dunners is on the couch?

On a separate note, the boy and I were watching the garbage truck go by this morning and they honked at us! :-)

Baby Curler?

So, I put the boy down by the front door so I could get ready to go out. When I turned around, look what he had out of the closet! Is it a sign?

Update

Okay, so we re-measured today and came up with the following:

Height: 74cm which is a little over 75th percentile
Head: 49cm ... okay not that much different from 50cm, but he went from 95th percentile for an 18 month old to 95th percentile for a 14 month old!

9 Months

Today was Chippy's 9 month doctors appointment. The official word is that he is:

9.33 kgs (with clothes) - approx. 50th percentile
72cm approx height - approx. 50th percentile
50cm head circumference - so far off the chart that it isn't even plausible. 95th percentile for an 18 month old! I think we'll re-measure that tomorrow! In defense of the doctor, he was being very squirmy!!

AGAIN I forgot the camera, so attached picture is upon our return. On a separate note, we just got back from a get together with daddy's faculty and Chippy was very good for two straight hours! That could have something to do with the tempera we gave him right before we left - but we'll just call it good behaviour.

Congratulations Daddy!

Today was daddy's big day! He found out today that he passed his comps! I made sure that I was extra grumpy today so that he had plenty to do. Now that his exam is over, we'll have lots of time to be together. I can't wait!

Sitting By Myself

Today he sat up for the first time all by himself! It was an accident really, and I don't think the boy actually knew what he did. He was rooting about in the laundry basket and propped himself up on the bus. Next thing you know he was sitting up! Here's a picture from moments before being upright.

You're Going To Work For Me Some Day!

Given that we're set to graduate as a Comm'31 we thought we would go check out the current Commerce frosh on campus. They mostly just sat around in something they called syndicates. We saw a few other gael groups and nursing students, but other than that it was pretty quiet on campus.

Until Bathtime!

Post #2 - Suddenly at bath time we were a fun little guy!! We had our bath in the regular tub because our bath duck is still deflated. We went belly down and swam around in circles! We splashed with our hands and kept getting water in our face - we thought that was funny! Of course we had our jumpy times at the end, as usual!

Not My Best Day

Post #1 - After two weeks of being on our best behaviour, today was not our best day! See attached picture. It could either be our 6th tooth coming in, or it could be us recouperating from all our activities over the past few weeks. Attending retirement parties, learning to pull up and walk around (a laundry basket), swimming in the river, wagon rides and swing rides! Today we bounced and played, slept a bit and went for a walk uptown. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be back to our normal routine.
