Some Bread With Your Butter?

While mummy and daddy were clearly not paying attention at dinner tonight, Chippy ate the whole tub of butter! The pizza and bread that he ordered must not have been up to his standards as he barely touched them. All he needs now is a salt sandwich!




On another note, a family with two small children the same age as Chippy and Chippette sat next to us and as soon as they were seated they handed over the ipad to the kids. So tempting and yet so wrong!

Big Boy

A surprise for a boy who has gone 36 hours in underpants ... And no binky for 2 nights!

At school they had a teddy bear picnic and Chippy was quite excited to bring in his Pooh bear. Only good reports from daycare recently! There was a moment at dinner tonight when we realized its been a few days of minimal whining or crying ... It's a welcome change!

Hockey Normy, Hockey!

The little guy is all ready for his first game of hockey! Chippy got his first pair of skates today and couldn't wait to put them on.

Christmas Again

We brought home our Christmas gifts this past weekend and had lots of fun opening them for the second time! Turns out, Chippy is very proficient at puzzles!

Mr. Plan It

Chippy's new thing is to make plans. Tonight he thought he would use the pot, finish his dinner, have some dessert, go upstairs to Matzo's room, pick out a train, come downstairs, I put the train in a box, he finds it in the box, and then he plays with it. Then he says very seriously, 'it's a plan'!

On a separate note, he is also Mr. Considerate. He helped me set the table for breakfast the other day and insisted on three matching bowls - so he went into the dishwasher and got out two more (mummy put them back as they were still dirty!) then he got three spoons and made sure one was a big spoon as daddy uses a big spoon and 'we two' use small spoons! He has an incredible memory for details like that. Very perceptive little boy.

So, in making conversation with the boy yesterday, I asked him what he learned at school. The surprising response without missing a beat ... standing on my head!

Happy Valentines!

Chippy was quite excited about valentines day this year! He was asking each day if it was 'valentines' when he woke up in the morning.  When it finally was the 14th, he reminded me that Bubba had left cookies for him that he could open on valentines.  So, cookies (and french toast) for breakfast it was - how could I say no when Bubba said he could have them - it was valentines day!

Chippy traced his name on most of the valentines we made for the kidlets at school.  He's getting quite good at it  -  with his fingers holding the crayon properly and all!  When he got home from school he had a valentines day hunt and presents from Grammy/Pa!  Overall I'd say he was quite pleased with his day.

Here's Chippy making Bubba some birthday cupcakes.  When we said he could try some with his finger he kept sticking his whole hand in the batter.

Daddy and Chippy took a vacation to Grammy and Pa's and were gone for 5 days!  Wow, was the house ever ... quiet...
