While Wee M may be having quieter days, Mr. Chippy is more than making up for it! He has taken to squealing as loud as he can at any occasion and crying when anything doesn't go his way! We have hit the terrible two's! He fights going to bed at night and when he does finally stay down he generally chats to himself for 15 min about a whole range of things! Tonight Daddy said - 'it's not funny, stay in bed', at which point Chippy replied - 'no haha, stay'!
Favourite sayings include 'I awake', ' I fart', 'Gampy truck / Marc jeep / Peppers train', 'light on', 'BubbaGampy', 'GrammyPa', 'MommyDaddy', 'I bus ride too', 'I happy' or 'I sad' at which point he gets tickled until he says 'I happy'. He is starting to have sentances of 4-5 words. He can recite his numbers until 12 and can identify the numbers as well. His vocabulary is exploding and he will remember things we talked about the week prior. He is always asking what the name of something is by pointing and saying 'da'. We can basically talk to him normally now about everyday activities and expect that he will understand (but generally not listen to!).
Favourite activities include chasing Dunning with a curling broom, running ... while screaming, holding Wee M, reading books, lining up his trains, going for a bus ride, and fixing things with his hammer 'I fix, I fix'.
As of Wednesday he is officially a senior toddler at daycare! His teacher Alyssa has stayed with his group and moved upstairs with them.
One thing that has really changed for Chippy is that he is eating really well. He will eat a lot for breakfast (waffles, 'Freddies', fruit and yogourt are favourites), and smaller amounts for lunch and dinner. But what he does eat is usually what we are making for ourselves. If there is a promise of a cookie at the end he'll try anything! The funny thing is he only finishes the cookie about half the time! He is also always a charmer when we take him out to eat!
It is just amazing to note the development.... incredible that he's understanding and saying so much!!! And that he's discovered the power of NO, and being stubborn!! What a smart man the old Chipster has become!!
