Normal Smile

I think this is the first normal smile caught on camera!

Auntie Cindy Sweater Day

It was a bit chilly in the house on Sunday, so we had an Auntie Cindy Sweater Day.  The lady is sporting a dress that could only be from Auntie Ruthie!! :)

It was off to the sugar shack this morning to find out where our maple syrup comes from!  Chippy was more interested in the promised pancakes...

March Update

While Wee M may be having quieter days, Mr. Chippy is more than making up for it!  He has taken to squealing as loud as he can at any occasion and crying when anything doesn't go his way!  We have hit the terrible two's!  He fights going to bed at night and when he does finally stay down he generally chats to himself for 15 min about a whole range of things!  Tonight Daddy said - 'it's not funny, stay in bed', at which point Chippy replied - 'no haha, stay'!
Favourite sayings include 'I awake', ' I fart', 'Gampy truck / Marc jeep /  Peppers train', 'light on', 'BubbaGampy', 'GrammyPa', 'MommyDaddy', 'I bus ride too', 'I happy' or 'I sad' at which point he gets tickled until he says 'I happy'.  He is starting to have sentances of 4-5 words.  He can recite his numbers until 12 and can identify the numbers as well.  His vocabulary is exploding and he will remember things we talked about the week prior.  He is always asking what the name of something is by pointing and saying 'da'.  We can basically talk to him normally now about everyday activities and expect that he will understand (but generally not listen to!).
Favourite activities include chasing Dunning with a curling broom, running ... while screaming, holding Wee M, reading books, lining up his trains, going for a bus ride, and fixing things with his hammer 'I fix, I fix'.
As of Wednesday he is officially a senior toddler at daycare! His teacher Alyssa has stayed with his group and moved upstairs with them.
One thing that has really changed for Chippy is that he is eating really well.  He will eat a lot for breakfast (waffles, 'Freddies', fruit and yogourt are favourites), and smaller amounts for lunch and dinner.  But what he does eat is usually what we are making for ourselves.  If there is a promise of a cookie at the end he'll try anything!  The funny thing is he only finishes the cookie about half the time!  He is also always a charmer when we take him out to eat!

Blue Feet

Yesterday we did our annual feet / hand painting.  A little more difficult keeping him on the paper this year - but luckily everything cleaned up in the end!

Choo... Choo...

Over the past two days Mommy and Chippy have had lots of choo choo times.  Chippy wore his train overalls and played trains most of Monday.  On Tuesday we watched lots of Thomas TV! :)

He was also a little dare devil jumping on and off his choo choo bed!

French Toast

Chippy helped make french toast this morning doing all the pouring and stirring all by himself!

Update: To the Super Nanny ... we are deeply indebted to you!

Chippy's Newton

Chippy eating his post breakfast, pre daycare snack.

Some major milestones for the Chipster this week:

1.  Chippy has peed in the potty 3 times in 3 days!  He completely knows what to do when we ask him if he has to go prior to his bath.  Stickers for everyone!

2.  Chippy knows how to get out of bed when we put him down for the night.  He refuses to stay in bed now.  Tonight we are going to enter Super Nanny mode and lay down the law!  Or at least Daddy is!

3.  We have been getting the following updates from daycare:

Chippy is doing so much better at not pushing other kids out of the way when he wants a turn.  He now announces that its his turn.
Chippy likes to ball up a blanket and pretend its baby Maisie (or Mayonnaise when you listen to his  pronunciation)
Wow, it certainly has been quiet without Chippy here on Mondays and Tuesdays!

Let Him Eat Cake!

Last night the family went over to my boss' house for a 'Wee M get together'.  Part of the festivities included cake which we were able to bring part home and have for dessert tonight - after finishing all our dinner!
Everyone was pretty well behaved last night with the exception of Chippy pulling down his pants in front of everyone - repeatedly, and taking food off my boss' plate, fingering it, and promptly returning it! Wee M slept through her party.

Christmas 2

Grammy, Pa, and Uncle Peppers came down to celebrate Christmas 2!  Highlights include opening everyone else's presents, getting a height measuring board made by Pa, playing trains with Uncle Peppers and reading my favourite books!

Mr. Fix It

Since getting his new tool set, Chippy is game to fix anything that needs fixing - or even that doesn't need fixing!  Here he is helping out Pa fix the front door!

Sailing

Dad and Chippy were playing the other day and they decided to make a sailboat!  Not sure how mum can top that one!  Chippy was pretty excited about his boat!
