New Carseat

Today we continued to be crabby and have a stuffy nose. I think there may even be four teeth that are ready to come through on the top - so I can understand his problem! He seemed happy enough though when we took the car out for a spin to try out our new car seat. All set for our Ontario tour!

I'll Have a Banana, Please!

Today's post was going to be about what a good time we had at 'Stories in the Park', but I forgot the camera. Then it was going to be about how the little guy isn't feeling too good. He's grumpy, not sleeping well during naps, and has a runny nose. We're pretty sure they are symptoms of his top teeth coming in. However, today's post is about how he devoured a banana at dinner time! He wasn't too keen on the tofu and veggies, so we threw in banana to make him eat it. Works every time. He still seemed hungry, so I fed him a banana whole! He kept taking bite after bite and was shoving my hand closer to his mouth so that he could bite off more. Crazy kid.

Piano Lessons

It has been a few weeks, but today we returned to piano lessons. We have to work on our form and our accuracy, but we're not doing too badly for an 8 month old! We have style, range, and enthusiasm taken care of. While we mostly enjoy the middle notes, we do like to diversify with some upper and lower octaves now and again. Currently, we are enjoying Bach and Tori Amos, but will soon we practicing our Rachmaninoff!

Hair Cut

Today we had our first 'haircut' ... if you consider cutting about 15 really, really long hairs a haircut! It took about 5 minutes because he wouldn't keep his head still long enough for me to grab the hair and cut. Hairs have been stuck onto tape and added to the baby book. :)

I Can Smash Trucks

Today I became a big boy! I learned how to smash trucks together! I select two of my five tractor trucks and hold one in each hand. And then I flail my hands around until the trucks smash into each other. Wow, this is fun! Mr. Orange seems to be my favourite truck at the moment.

I Can Read A Book!

(Friday's entry) Today I helped my mom read me a book. I can't yet read what's on the pages (she does that for me), but I can turn the pages when it's time. I love looking at the pictures. Sometimes I try to flip through the pages too quickly because I'm really excited. Well, as excited as I can be for a picture book. I can't wait until my dad lets me do some of his book learning!

I Brush My Teeth ....

When I wake up in the morning and it's a quarter to 7, I brush my teeth!!!! Now that we have teeth, we started to brush our teeth today! And surprisingly, we didn't mind it at all. What a good boy! :)

Hi Grammy!

Today Grammy and Grampa came to visit Chippy. They used the pretense of coming for my birthday, but, what they really wanted was to see Chippy! :) They took Chippy for a buggy ride and let him splash around in the splash pad. He CRAWLED, but more on that another day. It was a short visit, but lots of loving. :-)

Eating the Floor Mat

So, the exchange went something like this. Mom - Chippy, don't eat the floor, it's dirty. Chippy - stares at mom with big blue eyes and continues to gnaw on the sides of the floor mat. Mom - well, okay, I suppose you've eaten worse with Dunning around ... sigh.

Bye bye to Auntie Lorri!

Monday we had to say goodbye to Auntie Lorri! We have been with her for the past week and a half. We spent 6 days at the cottage and then we spent 3 days in Ottawa. In that time, Lorri took us to Buttermilk Falls, a wood log chute, the Minden lookout, got us Rockcliffe fries (someone wasn't allowed any!), took us to the Parliment building, the mint (and got us our first coin!), the changing of the guard, the big spider, the market and Beavertails (again, someone wasn't allowed any!) After many 'Chippy Time' mornings, Lorri had to go home to work. :<(
