Lazy Sunday

With not seeing Chippy as often as I used to, I really notice his new 'skills' on the weekends! Now that he's feeling better he's really talkative. He blubbers a lot and has new sounds that he's making. Mama has become a firm favourite; however, it hasn't overtaken Dada and Bubba yet. We're thinking now that mama is actually milk and dada is Dunning doggie. :(

He spent a lot of time this weekend playing with his car. He pushes it down the hallway and then backs it up while walking backwards. When he pushes it forward he gets really excited, screams, and gets really wide eyes.

This afternoon we went to the park and played with Dunning. Chippy is getting pretty good at walking outside with his boots on. He walked around the stores for the first time yesterday when we went shopping. He did really well until he had a meltdown in the middle of Mexx because I wouldn't let him chuck the shoes on the floor. :)

Front Facing Chippy

We bonked Chippy's head one too many times when putting him in the car seat, so we now have him facing forwards. He had his first trip on Tuesday coming home from daycare. He actually looked a bit confused, but soon settled in to his new way of looking at the world.

My Great Auntie

Today one of my great aunties came to visit me. I wasn't too sure about the Gabriels at first, but after a few minutes I warmed up to them :) Not only did I get to see my great auntie and uncle, but my great cousins (??) Ian & Colin came to see me too. I thought maybe Colin had come to take Spot back - luckily I was able to keep him entertained and he forgot to ask!
(Yesterday)One year ago this month I was a passive observer in Uncle Peppers and Daddy's card game. Yesterday I was an active participant. Too bad daddy still lost!
(One day this week) Mommy needed some artwork for her office, so Chippy and daddy went to work. Mommy was very impressed with the artwork, but not so impressed by this picture! After completing his masterpiece, Chippy cleaned the house, then waited by the door for mommy to come home.

Toot, toot...

Chippy's weekend consisted of walking around downstairs with either his snail or his train -- but, his train is definately his favourite! Up and down, up and down the hall for hours! Toot, toot...!!
The other thing he has started to do is play with his truck. He gets down on his hands and knees and pushes the truck along the floor. Play time is getting really fun these days!!

Chippy Art 2

Chippy brought home more art work today! For this piece Chippy chose to draw in green with his right hand. Once he was done he switched to red with his left hand. Subsequently, he turned the marker on himself :)

Chippy Art

Chippy brought home his first art work from school yesterday! What a nice surprise picking him up and finding this in the envelope over his cubby. Here he is explaining his choice of colours.

Superbowl Picks

In honour of the superbowl this evening, we had Chippy make his superbowl picks before bed. We gave him the choice of a yellow block for the Steelers, or a green block for the Packers. Unfortunately, he picked the Packers. So we tried again - but he still picked the Packers. Sorry Shaun Suisham (one of Wallaceburg's finest), but Chippy has made his pick!

Bath Antics

(Thursday post) Chippy was acting out at bath time today! When I suggested that he pick his toys, he picked his toys, then proceeded to throw in his p.j's and almost his shoes! Normally his toys are lined up on the tub and he just dumps in the ones he wants. Now he's starting to get creative!

He was very talkative in the bath tonight too! He was stringing together ba,ba,da,da,ma,ma... Very smart boy!

My favourite part of bath time is when he's done his bath. I take him out and I get a big long hug. Unfortunately, it's before I have dried him off!

Bath, Book, & Bed

(Yesterday) We are down to a science in our bedtime routine. After our dinner we are usually in need of a bath. We play with our toys in the bath for 10-15 minutes, then we get out and have our book time. Here's Chippy with his dad reading about a cricket. He HATES having his teeth brushed, but that's usually somewhere between book and bed. He's usually in bed by 7pm, but if he's really cranky he will sometimes be put down earlier. :) He's pretty good at sleeping until 4-5am, then he's down again until 6-7am (ish).

On a separate note, he is still doing well at daycare. Each day I get the same report. 'Chippy had a really good day today.' 'Chippy's so happy.' 'What nice hugs he gives!' 'Chippy didn't eat his (insert eggs, chicken, beef, tofu hotdog, pasta, vegetables, etc.) today for lunch, but he had 3 muffins and 4 dishes of fruit!'

Snow Angels

(Sunday's post) With all the snow we've been having, I finally talked mom and dad into taking me out to play in the snow. I thought it was really funny to be laying in the snow, and with mom's help I made my first snow angels!! M&D are getting quicker at getting me into my snow things - It only took them about 10 minutes this time.
