Art Work No. 3 & Accident Report No. 2

When I pick Chippy up from daycare now they are outside playing in the yard. Yesterday I was advised that Chippy likes to eat the pine needles so I might want to try cleaning his mouth out when I get home. Today I was advised that Chippy had tipped off the side of a mattress and bonked the side of his head. He had a pretty nice little goose egg next to his eye. Other than that he really seems to like it outside!

We also received new artwork today - shortly after this picture Chippy ripped it into 3 pieces - he must not have liked the pink paper, or perhaps it just wasn't his best painting in his opinion.

We have continued our nightly walks to the park with Dunning; however, we have started to walk toward the road when a loud car or bus goes by - and since he doesn't like to hold my hand I have started to carry him most of the way. He likes to walk around on the grass at the park though. He smiles at all the students going by!

Dog Walker for Hire

Chippy, Dunning and I went for a walk today down to the park. Today is the first day that Chippy walked all the way to the park and back by himself! He tried to wander a few times, but for the most part he was happy to follow Dunning!

On a separate note, his top left molar has stared to come through!

King of the Castle

He had a little help up onto the dog food bin, but he got into the spinny toy all by himself (which was on the table)! Part of his new habit of climbing on everything!

Chippy had his 15 month dr's appointment last week. His stats were:

Head: 50cm; Weight: 10.9kg (24 lbs); Height: 80cm (approx - we can't remember all the exact stats)

BBQ Anyone?

Chippy, Dunning and Mommy played outside this afternoon. I think it's the first time Chippy has walked around the back yard given all the snow we had this winter. Once he found the barbeque he didn't want to play with anything else! Any attempts to remove him from the barbeque area resulted in instant meltdown!

Denny's

'That'll be one order of the cheese quesadilla and one order of the strawberry yogourt - and make it snappy!'

We had our first meal out where we ordered THREE meals! Daddy and Chippy picked up mom from work on Friday night and they all went out to Denny's!

Auntie Visit

We had an Auntie Fest on Sunday! Jubie, Bubba (2) and Boo came to visit! Despite not feeling that great, Chippy still enjoyed his visit - especially his new Doggy book!!

Part of why Chippy may not be feeling well is that he's currently working on four of his molar teeth! He's drooling like crazy and has his fingers in his mouth a lot. This time around seems to be bothering him a lot more than the front teeth. Poor Chippy. :(

Achievements of the Week

Our progress has been slowed down the past two days because we're now sick (again!); however, Chippy has been learning lots of new things again this week. Starting on about Wednesday he really started using his spoon well. He has also learned about feeding Dunning. He'll open her tin and get kibble out for her, and he'll also stick his hand into her treat box and feed her. He sometimes takes a few for himself - he heard that one of his Great Aunties had also tried dog food - so it's okay!
This was a long time ago, but I don't think I mentioned that he's a champ on the stairs. He'll even wait at the bottom until someone is behind him to go up. He seems to know that he's not allowed to go up by himself.

(Update: I forgot to mention his best achievement of the week - he slept through the night for the entire week!!)

Climbing Gym

While attempting to clean Dunning off the couch over the weekend Chippy had a climbing gym of cushions! He had great fun climbing over and on top of them until he realized there was a small space between the cushions on the couch that was just big enough for him to sit. He decided that he'd spend the rest of this time reading in his new little spot. Without the cushion it was low enough that he could climb up, book in hand! This picture was also seconds before he ripped the carpet off the turtle in his 'Spot' book!

School Desk

Here we are at our desk again! We LOVE our desk! In a short amount of time he has mastered how to get in and out of the desk as well as spin around front to back depending on where the action is in the room. We still have a small problem of standing on the desk, but we're working on it. He's going to be all set for Kindergarten!
In the second picture Chippy is colouring with his new crayons. In addition to colouring a new picture, he also managed to colour half the desk!

Bubba and Gampy

Bubba and Gampy came for a visit this weekend! We had breakfast in their hotel each morning - the second morning Chippy had to be pulled over in his sled because it was so icy and snowy out. B&G brought with them their old kid desk. Chippy loves playing in his new desk! His drawer on the side keeps his books and crayons and we keep a puzzle on top. Chippy sometimes gets over enthusiastic and crawls over the top of he desk - so adult supervision is still strongly advised!

Chippers & Bean - Part II

Bean came for a visit over the weekend. Chippy didn't like having Bean in his house, so he started bawling. Well, Bean didn't take too kindly to that, so she started crying too. Here is a good video of the resulting meltdown!

DOGGY!! Ths is the first word that he has said where he seems to have connected the word to the object!
