A Trip to the Farm

It was a nice fall day yesterday, so we decided to pack up and head off to Ottawa to a children's farm.  Before going, dad and Chippy made sure to inspect Pa's car for oil!  At the farm there was a tractor ride, lots of animals, and a huge playground.  Chippy had an amazing ability run between all the 20 or so pieces of equipment in no particular order, while hitting each one only once!  Feeding the goats was a hit, until they knocked him over - then it was game over.  His favourite thing was 'riding the john deere tractor'.  Overall, a successful trip!

A Dinosaur Bit Me!

Over the past week or so Chippy has been concerned about a dinosaur that has been biting him on occasion - usually in the middle of the night.  Last night Chippy saw the dinosaur right before bed time.  Mummy told him the dinosaur was saying goodnight and was going home to be tucked in by mummy dinosaur.  That seemed to solve the problem of the dinosaur ... too bad about the bear that bit him at about 4am!!

Peppers

While he's still too young to understand what happened today, I know that Chippy is missing his Uncle Peppers.  From talking about 'Peppers Train' (picking Peppers up at the train station) ... to having Peppers picture taped up in his room ... to telling Grammy that he was going to Paris to see Peppers, there will always be a little Peppers in his heart.

Kingston Fall Fair

It was the fall fair for us this morning!  It was this little boy's dreams come true!!  Not only were there dozens of tractors of all makes and models (except Kubota!) to ride, but Brodie and Sean Thomas, Chippy's top friends from daycare were there riding the tractors, too!  Next up was the midway - then some smoked pork sandwiches (for Peppers), and a Beavertail.  Not a happy camper coming home, but we may head back this afternoon!

A highlight for me was when daddy referred to the 4H club as the triple A club ...

Get Well Soon, Peppers!!!

Well, it took a few days to get it up ... but Chippy wanted to wish Peppers a speedy recovery!!!!!!!
Get well soon, Uncle Peppers!!!!!

ABC's

Mr. Chippy woke up the other morning and felt the need to break into his ABC's ... he went straight through for the first time!  Mummy said ... hold that thought ... and went looking for the camera.  He was a bit shy about doing it for the camera and gets distracted near the end, but I still can't believe he knows all his letters already!

Big Brother

Given Wee M is heading to the little house tomorrow, Chippy will have to watch out for her!  We have no worries there ... he's the best big brother ever!  Around dinner time, Chippy and Wee M play together in the living room.  If Chippy doesn't like that Wee M has one of his toys, he's good at swapping it out for one that he approves of.

Mr. Chippy has shortened everyone's names - not sure what brought this on.  We're now mom, dad, Maze and Dun.  Tonight after he was in bed I went in to see him and he chatted away to me for about 15 minutes before I finally told him it was time to close his eyes for bed.  One of his stories was something like going to look at a Kubota tractor then Thomas has wheels but they don't turn [referring to his bed] then something else, but he doesn't want to fall down.  I wasn't quite following his thought progression but I repeated it back to him and it seems like I heard correctly!  The gears are turning in his head but he just can't spit things out fast enough!  When dad puts him to bed now days, he wants to hear the door story and the light story ... so dad tells him about the history of his door or how we came to buy that light ... but now dad says that he has been instructed to tell the stories as if it's Chippy the one that stained and prepared the door or bought the light!  Oh, and if you ask him anything about time, it's always 'four-seven o'clock'.

Chippy has been a very good boy the last few days ... a few small fits, but mostly he's been a really good boy.
